Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician -- Refuse & Fleet Equipment

Job DescriptionJob Description What your day looks like

You roll into our Moscow, ID shop for a Monday–Friday day shift, gear up, and get to work keeping refuse trucks, forklifts, and other heavy equipment in top condition. You’ll run inspections, track down mechanical issues, perform diagnostics, complete repairs, and sign off on the paperwork that keeps the fleet compliant and safe. You’ll also weld when needed, communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors, and operate independently without constant oversight—always putting safety first.

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shifts (with rotating on-call weekends)

What you’ll tackle

  • Preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on waste/recycling trucks, heavy equipment, forklifts, and related machinery
  • Keep equipment, tools, and materials clean, organized, and safely stored
  • Run functionality checks to validate proper operation before returning equipment to service
  • Model and follow company policies and safety procedures at all times
  • Share professional feedback and collaborate with the team
  • Communicate proactively with colleagues, clients, and supervisors
  • Complete all required documentation and service reports
  • Perform welding as needed
  • Diagnose mechanical issues efficiently and accurately
  • Work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and follow uniform standards

What you bring

  • Class B CDL (not required)
  • Deep understanding of safe operation for trucks, forklifts, and heavy equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness to ensure a safe work environment
  • Ability to understand, follow, and help enforce safety protocols
  • Flexibility to support rotating on-call weekends
  • Clear written documentation and professional verbal communication
  • Drive to learn new skills and take on added responsibilities
  • Team-first mindset with effective collaboration skills
  • Own basic hand tools and have reliable transportation
