Healthy and Safety Advisor

Job Description

We are looking for an Health and Safety Advisor to work in conjunction with Health and Safety Manager to manage, monitor and deliver all health and safety procedures on-site. This is an exciting position with the opportunity to work for a long standing and innovative company in the Cladding, Facades and Rendering industry.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nEnsure the skills and knowledge of site staff, look at training or requalification as required.\n\nRegular site visits.\n\nLiaise with clients and attend meetings as required.\n\nInvestigating and reporting of incidents.\n\nPrepare and distribute regular health and safety alerts as required.\n\nLiaise with technical, quality and contracts departments to ensure procedures and manuals include all relevant H&S requirements.\n\nH&S internal management system for ISO 9001 and 14001.\n\nAttend pre-start site surveys, project handover meetings and ongoing project meetings as required.\n\nAttend regular H&S review meetings.\n\nWork with the H&S Manager to prepare H&S strategies and internal policies and ensure all project management staff are aware of company policies and procedures.\n\nCarry out H&S inspections and audits on a regular and ad hoc basis in order to monitor compliance with company procedures.\n\nAssist the site teams with closing out issues that are identified during inspections or audits.\n\nEnsure any breaches in procedures and hazards are identified, corrected and flagged to the site team.\n\nEnsure incidents, accidents and near misses, are recorded and reported as per company procedures.\n\nKeep up to date with relevant changes in legislation, regulations and industry requirements and best practice.\n\nWrite method statements and risk assessments where required.\n\nSupport site management in the production, review and implementation of project management plans, construction phase plans and project H&S documentation.\n\nLiaise with client representatives, other stakeholders and sub-contractors in order to establish good working relationships in relation to the health, safety and environmental management of sites.\n\nSkills & Qualifications\n\nNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent\n\nExperience of the construction and insulation industry.\n\nExperience of ISO 9001 and 14001\n\nCDM Regulations 2015\n\nWork at Height Regulations 2005, and knowledge of TG20-21 and SG4 NASC\n\nSSIP schemes\n\nPreferable IOSH\n\nDeliver training and presentations\n\nWorking knowledge of all major health and safety legislation, including the Work at Height Regulations 2005, and knowledge of TG20-21 and SG4 NASC requirements\n\nExperience of SSIP schemes\n\nNEBOSH Certificate in Construction\n\nCSCS card\n\nCompetent user of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook
