Health & Safety Manager – Northampton

Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Northampton, with travel to sites across the UK

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of all health, safety and environmental (HSE) activities across multiple construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate safety professional who wants to make a real impact — driving a positive safety culture, leading best practice, and ensuring that every project is delivered safely, compliantly and efficiently.

 

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve company HSE policies, procedures and standards.
  • \n

  • Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations, ISO 45001 and current UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • \n

  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing effective control measures.
  • \n

  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses; prepare detailed reports and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • \n

  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and training to enhance health and safety awareness across all teams.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors and clients to maintain high standards of safety performance.
  • \n

  • Produce regular reports and performance metrics for senior management.
  • \n

  • Drive continuous improvement through innovation, learning and engagement.
  • \n

 

About You

We’re looking for a motivated and confident professional who can inspire others to work safely and responsibly.

Essential Requirements:

    \n
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma (or equivalent).
  • \n

  • Chartered or Graduate Member of IOSH.
  • \n

  • Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety and CDM Regulations.
  • \n

  • 5+ years of experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction sector.
  • \n

  • Proven ability to influence, engage and coach teams at all levels.
  • \n

  • Excellent communication, reporting and organisational skills.
  • \n

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
  • \n

Desirable:

    \n
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualification.
  • \n

  • Experience working on large industrial, logistics or commercial construction projects.
  • \n
