Are you ready to lead safety with purpose?

At Wilderness Way, we don’t just provide care — we transform lives. As a leading provider of specialist residential care for children, we’re on a mission to create safe, nurturing environments where people can heal, grow, and thrive. Now, we’re looking for a Health & Safety Manager who shares our passion and wants to make a real difference.

Why This Role Matters

This isn’t your average H&S job. You’ll be at the heart of a high-impact, high-compliance environment where your expertise will directly protect and empower both our staff and the children in our care. From shaping policy to leading audits, training teams, and embedding a proactive safety culture — you’ll be the driving force behind our commitment to excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading our health & safety strategy across multiple residential sites

Delivering audits, investigations, and compliance reports that drive real change

Designing and delivering engaging training that sticks

Supporting managers with risk assessments and safety planning

Championing a culture where safety is everyone’s business

What You’ll Bring

NEBOSH-qualified with multi-site H&S experience

A confident communicator who can influence at all levels

A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement

A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across Cumbria and the North East

Bonus points if you’ve worked in residential childcare, education, or regulated care settings — but if you’ve got the drive and the know-how, we want to hear from you.

Why Join Wilderness Way?

Be part of a values-led organisation making a lasting impact

Work alongside passionate, supportive professionals

Enjoy a competitive salary, flexible working, and ongoing development

Make a difference every single day
