Health & Safety Advisor



We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional with strong knowledge of UK legislation and ISO standards, capable of influencing continuous improvement, and committed to ensuring a safe, compliant, and proactive workplace. This site-based role will play a pivotal part in driving a positive health and safety culture at a key operational energy from waste facility.



Key Responsibilities of a Health & Safety Advisor include:



* Lead the implementation and development of health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems in alignment with ISO 45001 and group requirements.



* Provide professional guidance and support to site teams, conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations to drive performance improvements.



* Monitor and report on health and safety performance, escalating risks and shortfalls to senior management as necessary.



* Chair the site Health & Safety Committee and represent the site at the UK Health & Safety Committee Forum.



* Support outage planning and execution, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, permits, and risk assessments.



Candidate Requirements



* NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (minimum); membership of a recognised professional body .



* Proven experience in health and safety management, ideally within the Energy from Waste, Biomass, or wider power sector.



* Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation, ISO standards, and best practices.



* Demonstrable skills in incident investigation, audit processes, and risk management.



* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
