Health IT Advanced Technology - Program Manager

Metrics is seeking a Health IT Advanced Technology Program Manager as we bid on an effort supporting the department of Veterans Affairs. The Program Manager will lead a team delivering health IT automation, financial tools, data dashboards, and program/project management services that directly impact how the VA provides pain care to Veterans. This role will oversee the development and integration of enterprise applications, manage budgets and dashboards, and ensure efficient delivery of initiatives supporting safe, effective, whole-person pain management across VHA.

Core Responsibilities

• Program & Project Leadership: Direct the design, integration, testing, and deployment of complex health IT solutions. Manage cross-functional teams of health IT professionals across multiple workstreams to ensure cohesive and efficient project delivery.
• VA Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for VA leadership, including the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), receiving government requests and directing contractor personnel activities to meet task order requirements. You must be proactive and responsive, prepared to handle unexpected events and "quick-turn" requests.
• Contract and Vendor Management: Oversee contract operations, including managing budgets and dashboards. You will also participate in weekly contract management meetings with VA stakeholders, preparing and presenting relevant artifacts in advance.
• Strategic & Technical Oversight: Ensure the efficient delivery of initiatives that support safe, effective, whole-person pain management across the VHA. This includes overseeing the development and integration of enterprise applications. You will also be responsible for ensuring your team's compliance with all security and privacy requirements, including mandatory VA training and rules of behavior.

Key Qualifications

• Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Master's degree . A minimum of 8 years of experience leading health IT or program management efforts is necessary. Experience with the integration of multiple project workstreams is essential.
• Technical & Domain Expertise: Strong familiarity with the specialized , terminology, and concepts of Health IT and related fields such as executive/managerial decision support, healthcare system capabilities, program evaluation, and strategic communications.
• Skills & Attributes:
  • Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills are crucial for preparing deliverables, presenting to VA leadership, and maintaining effective team communication.
  • Vendor Management: Proven ability to manage vendors and handle contract operations effectively.
  • VA Experience: Prior experience in federal healthcare IT, particularly with the VA/VHA, is and will be viewed as a significant asset.
