A client within the Public Sector based in Tyne and Wear is currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer (Technical) to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a health and safety environment.\n \nThe Role \nKey purpose of the role is to support the Health and Safety Team in maintaining a safe working environment across the Borough by carrying out inspections and recording findings using digital systems.\n \nKey responsibilities will include but not be limited to:\n • Carrying out site inspections across council premises and facilities.\n • Recording inspection outcomes using the SafetyCulture app.\n • Assisting the Health and Safety Team with compliance monitoring and reporting.\n • Supporting colleagues in promoting safe working practices and ensuring standards are met.\n \nThe Candidate \nTo be considered for this role you will require:\n • A recognised health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.\n • Experience of undertaking workplace/site inspections within a public sector or similar environment.\n \nThe below skills would be beneficial for the role:\n • Strong IT literacy, including use of mobile inspection apps or databases.\n • Good communication and reporting skills.\n • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.\n \nThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £20 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £15–£16 per hour PAYE).\n \nHow to Apply \nIf this position sounds of interest, email a copy of your up-to-date CV to (url removed) or call Megan at Service Care Construction on (phone number removed)\n to discuss the vacancy in more detail.\n Also, if this role is not of interest to you, but you are looking for new opportunities, please still get in touch as we cover all construction-related vacancies across the region.\n \nReferral Bonus \nIf this role is not suitable for yourself, but you know someone who may be interested, please pass on their details, or forward these details to them.
