Job Title: Part-Time Compliance Manager (Health & Safety)
Location: London (with occasional travel across the UK)
Hours: Part-time, 3 days a week (1 in office)
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Compliance Manager (Health & Safety) to join a small but impactful organisation within the smart energy sector. This role will see you co-lead on all aspects of health and safety compliance, risk management, and governance, working closely with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining industry certifications, ensuring statutory obligations are met, and promoting a culture of health and safety across the business and its third-party suppliers. This is a varied position, perfect for someone who thrives on responsibility and values the opportunity to shape compliance frameworks within a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee external audits and assurance reviews to maintain ISO45001 certification.
- Manage all aspects of Health & Safety, including oversight of third-party vendors and contractors.
- Ensure organisational compliance with the Construction, Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and site inspections across the UK.
- Lead the response to incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions.
- Chair the Health & Safety Assurance Board with external counterparts.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and KPIs for H&S compliance.
- Deliver health and safety training programmes and provide expert advice to employees and contractors.
- Collaborate with internal compliance and regulatory colleagues to support business-wide risk management.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Essential: NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety (or working towards)
- Strong organisational skills, professionalism, and a proactive, can-do approach.
- Confidence in presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Flexibility to manage a varied workload with competing priorities.
Desirable:
- Auditing background and/or ISO45001 Lead Auditor qualification.
- Knowledge of CDM principles.
- Experience in the energy, construction, or regulated industries.
- Data Protection Practitioner certification.
