Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health, and Safety Manager to join our team at Quality Electrical Systems. In this role, you will play a key part in developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in EHS practices within a manufacturing environment, particularly in the electrical equipment industry

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain Health and Safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Establish and oversee programs related to hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
  • Compliance Management:
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain necessary permits, records, and reports related to environmental and safety standards.
  • Training and Awareness:
    • Develop and deliver training programs for employees on EHS policies, emergency response, and safe work practices.
    • Promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns and initiatives.
  • Incident Management:
    • Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
    • Track and report on safety metrics and trends to management.
  • Audits and Inspections:
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of equipment, processes, and facilities.
    • Identify potential hazards and work with teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Collaboration:
    • Partner with engineering and production teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into manufacturing processes.
    • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in an electrical equipment manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Skills/Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
    • Proficiency in EHS management systems and risk assessment tools.
    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications:
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar credential .
    • HAZWOPER certification a plus.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to electrical equipment, machinery, and occasional outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 30 pounds as required.
