Night Shift Health & Safety Advisor (7pm–3am)

The Opportunity



A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Night Shift Health & Safety Advisor to support a major data centre project in North Acton. Working the 7pm–3am shift, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safe working practices during night operations, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement. This is an ideal role for someone looking to progress within a forward-thinking contractor that values professional development and proactive safety leadership.



Key Responsibilities



* Conduct regular night-time site audits and inspections, producing detailed reports on H&S performance and compliance.



* Monitor and support safe working practices specific to night-shift activities, including reduced supervision periods and high-risk operations.



* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, company policies, and project-specific requirements.



* Review and assist with Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring they remain suitable for night-shift work.



* Assess subcontractor documentation and competency prior to and during night operations.



* Attend and contribute to internal and client H&S meetings, providing updates on night-shift performance and actions.



* Provide coaching and support to staff and subcontractors, promoting a strong H&S culture during out-of-hours work.



* Lead or support incident, near-miss and accident investigations occurring on the night shift.



* Identify training needs and support the delivery of relevant health, safety, and wellbeing programmes.



* Compile shift reports and contribute to monthly SHEQ summaries and continuous improvement initiatives.



* Support ongoing maintenance of ISO-accredited H&S, Quality and Environmental management systems.



What You’ll Bring



* Experience in a health & safety role within the construction or M&E sector, ideally including nightshift or critical-environment experience.



* Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation, industry standards and best practice.



* Confident communication and coaching skills with the ability to engage and influence teams working during night hours.



* A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.



* Relevant H&S qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
