Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBox Header Welder is a specialized, skilled tradesperson who fabricates and welds header boxes for industrial heat exchangers, air coolers, and pressure vessels. The role involves reading blueprints, performing precise MIG, Flux Core, and sometimes TIG welding, and ensuring components meet strict quality and pressure standards.Essential Job Duties

• Welding & Fabrication: Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Flux Core welding to join pipes, plates, and structural components used in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret complex fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and production schedules.
• Fit-Up & Layout: Align, clamp, and fit materials accurately before laying down the weld.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed welds for accuracy, ensuring they meet structural integrity and safety codes.

Tool Operation: Safely operate grinders, cutting torches, tape measures, and basic fabrication equipment.Key Qualifications

• Experience: Typically requires 2+ years of prior welding experience in a manufacturing or heavy fabrication environment.
• Certifications: May require specialized testing (e.g., carbon steel plate tests in various positions, ASME, or AWS standards).
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in physically demanding environments.
• Skills: Strong blueprint reading, precise tape measure usage, and high attention to detail.
• small diameter test for Mig/Flux Core and MiG/stick.Qualified candidates will have experience welding headers in the air-cooled heat exchanger industry. Blueprint knowledge required. 1st & 2nd shifts available, Pay Depends on experience.
