Head of Operations & Portfolio Management - Permanent

Location: Central London office

Salary UP TO £100K, DOE + Bonus potential + Benefits package

Our client is a successful and dynamic property finance lender with over nine years of experience operating across the UK. Due to huge success they started to fund projects in Europe and today they operate in over ten major cities, providing finance across a range of sectors including real estate development, investment, agricultural and healthcare to name a few.

With solid intuitional funding and pension funding they are well backed to support SME’s in the UK and Europe providing bridging loans, commercial mortgages and development finance. With their flexible and highly efficient approach to lending, their strong use of technology allows them to provide a more accessible and competitive lending solution within a timely manner.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Head of Operations to work alongside the CEO and COO, and as part of the Senior Management team to take responsibility for the day-to-day operations.

You have the opportunity is to join at a stage where it has successfully established itself and looks to expand its business. As the Head of Operations, you will have the opportunity to lead the development of the core operational engine of the platform and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s infrastructure. In return you will be supported, given autonomy to make decisions and increasing amount of responsibility over time.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the development of a core function in a growing Fintech lender and our client is looking for someone that they can invest in long term and whom they can support in their career progression, therefore this would suit someone who is looking to step up into a bigger role and with more autonomy in a more entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the COO and lead financial operations.
  • Ensuring the timely funding and completion of loans.
  • Managing the relationship with partner banks.
  • Overseeing the loan servicing (completion to redemption) and portfolio monitoring.
  • Managing the flow of money into and out of client accounts and the accurate reconciliation of accounts.
  • Optimizing reporting to funding partners, stakeholders, or tax authorities.
  • Driving the technology investments to improve client experience, create operational leverage and support new products.
  • Collaborating with other team heads to ensure efficient interaction between the teams.
  • Actively driving the development and growth of the Loan Operations and Portfolio Management teams.
  • Presenting new deals to the Investment Committee.
  • Working collaboratively externally and alongside other team members to structure loans to meet lending appetite and develop new lending products within the property finance space.
  • Being first point of contact and taking the lead on all the deals and working with the transaction management team to deliver a holistic approach to borrowers, brokers and other stakeholders.

Experience:

  • Must have a min of 5 year’ s experience in property finance, developing processes and teams around payments, risk management or internal audit.
  • Previous leadership experience and enjoy developing people.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and results-focused.
  • You are able to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • An excellent communicator, if you are fluent in speaking another language (in particular Spanish, German, French or Dutch) is a plus.
  • Strong IT Skills including MS Office, Excel and other IT productivity tools.
  • Articulate, literate, numerate and able to solve problems.
  • Willingness to be hands on and be in the detail.
