Head of Engineering

Copello are working with a growing engineering and manufacturing business who are looking for a Head of Engineering. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Head of Engineering will lead a multi-functional team across Engineering and Project Management. As the overall Engineering Authority, the Head of Engineering needs to be competent within electro-mechanical design through to manufacturing encompassing project management, design, V&V handing over to manufacturing. As well as being technically competent, the right candidate will be an effective leader and people manager. The Head of Engineering will need to demonstrate the ability to lead teams and set strategic direction, identifying where the team can improve. The Head of Engineering will need to have the competence and confidence to work directly with the customer and deliver engineering solutions. The core functions where experience would be ideal are Project Management, Electrical, Mechanical and NPI. The Head of Engineering will have excellent communication skills and have the ability to communicate at board level down and have the ability to establish effective long term relationships. Previous experience in an Engineering discipline is essential as is a recognised qualification within Engineering, ideally at degree level.
