Location: Norcross, GA (Hybrid, onsite 3 days/wk)

Pay Scale: $110,000-$135,000/yr

JOB DESCRIPTION

We're looking for a Product based Project Manager for our Wayside Monitoring project for Class 1 railroads. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing delivery of projects within the railroad and rolling stock inspection technology product portfolio. This position has overall program responsibility within a matrixed origination and plays a critical role in project delivery. We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with a background in large industrial machinery or heavy equipment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage program to deliver on time, within budget, meet revenue / margin targets and meet contractual obligations.
  • Adhere to customer and industry standards / specifications, while keeping within quality standards
  • Lead efforts to identify risks and opportunities, proactively develop plans and apply countermeasures to improve our position.
  • Communicate issues and opportunities – Include plans to resolve
  • Manage contract, project scope, risk, and Change Orders (CO)
  • Represent the company as senior customer program interface.
  • Optimize customer relationships through program life cycle. Foster long-term, customer centric relationships.
  • Responsible for development of high-quality written reports / presentations for management and customer reviews.
  • Lead resource, Wabtec management and customer reviews - project status, risk management, schedule, budget, performance to plan, etc.
  • Travel required to/from intercompany, supplier, and customers offices.
  • Lead by example by personally embracing and integrating process continuous improvement
  • Organize and lead internal and external project meetings. Create and share meeting agenda, record meeting minutes, follow-up on all actions/owners to keep project on-schedule

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field
  • 5 years’ experience in Hardware Project/Program Management
  • Background in large industrial machinery or heavy equipment
  • Proven experience in project / program management within a matrixed organization
  • Experience with program planning/management systems/tools; Particular emphasis on capacity planning, scheduling, budget, and execution
  • Proven experience in managerial and technical communication
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Excellent computer skills – for example Windows Suite
