Job Title: Hard Maintenance Operative\n Location: Cheltenham \n Contract Type: Full Time\nHourly Rate: 22.50 - £25.00 per hour \n\n About Us\n\n Our client is responsible for maintaining safe, secure, and welcoming environments across our social housing. We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Hard Maintenance Operative to join their team. This role is hands-on and varied, working both independently and as part of a team to ensure our outdoor and structural facilities are kept in excellent condition.\n\n The Role\n \nAs a Hard Maintenance Operative, you’ll take responsibility for a wide range of outdoor and structural maintenance tasks, from fence repairs and pathway upkeep to general grounds work.

You’ll play a vital role in keeping our sites safe, functional, and presentable.\n \nKey Responsibilities\n \nCarry out fence repairs, gate adjustments, and boundary maintenance. \nUndertake general grounds maintenance including minor landscaping, pathway repairs, and site tidiness. \nPerform small-scale building fabric repairs (e.g., brickwork, paving, drainage).

\nSupport planned and reactive maintenance tasks as required. \nOperate tools, machinery, and equipment safely and effectively. \nEnsure all work complies with health & safety requirements.

\nReport any hazards, defects, or required works promptly to management. About You\n \nWe’re looking for someone practical, hardworking, and able to turn their hand to a variety of maintenance jobs. You’ll have good problem solving skills, take pride in your work, and enjoy working outdoors in all seasons.\n \nEssential Skills & Experience\n \nPrevious experience in grounds, maintenance, or a similar trade-based role.

\nAbility to use hand tools and small machinery confidently and safely. \nBasic knowledge of fencing, grounds upkeep, and general building fabric repairs. \nStrong awareness of health & safety practices.
