Your Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the analysis and troubleshooting of control algorithms for various UAV configurations, including fixed-wing and rotary platforms.
  • Lead control systems analysis, modeling, and simulation efforts.
  • Determine component-level specifications, engaging in both bespoke design and vendor collaboration.
  • Utilize our machine shop for swift prototyping and test development.
  • Oversee rigorous testing documentation to uphold program standards.
  • Nurture cross-disciplinary communications to facilitate key project decisions.
  • Pinpoint pivotal challenges, formulate solutions, and convey these effectively to stakeholders.

Your Experience and Skills Essential:

  • BS/MS in engineering with a focus on autonomous systems and a track record of applied project work.
  • Strong background in UAS and UAV avionics systems from either academic or industrial environments.
  • Proven expertise with CAD tools (like Catia and SolidWorks) and autonomous system software (such as Mission Planner and Pixhawk).
  • Part 107 certification is advantageous.

Desirable:

  • Travel requirements are moderate.
  • Experience with control system implementations for UAV flights.
  • Proficiency with PX4 and autopilot systems.
  • Advanced understanding of EMI resolution, CAN bus systems, and RF installations.
  • Strong command over servo mechanisms and mission planning software.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Skill in fostering teamwork to navigate engineering obstacles.

Compensation

Compensation for this role ranges from $130,000 to $200,000, reflecting candidates' experience and expertise.
