Job Title: Group Compliance and Risk Manager

Job Overview:



We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Group Compliance Manager to oversee our compliance programmes, with a strong emphasis on Health and Safety (H&S), regulatory requirements, sales practice compliance, compliance with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations, and contractor management. This role is essential in ensuring that our operations meet all relevant legal and regulatory standards, fostering a safe and compliant working environment. The Compliance Manager may also serve as an Internal Auditor, providing a comprehensive view of compliance and operational effectiveness. A project management mentality is vital for the successful implementation of compliance initiatives.



This is a corporate-level position that may be based at various on-site locations, and requires approximately 80% travel to different sites.



Scope:



Oversight of compliance in the areas of FCA regulation, employment law, health and safety, data protection, and internal audit. Responsible for ensuring that all branches and business units operate in compliance with applicable UK laws, regulatory frameworks, and internal policies.



You can have a single Compliance Manager role that covers multiple compliance domains, including:



- FCA (financial conduct & regulatory reporting),



- Employment law / HR compliance,



- Internal audits and governance, and



- Health & Safety (H&S) management oversight.



Key Responsibilities:



* Develop, implement, and maintain thorough compliance policies and procedures encompassing H&S, regulatory requirements, sales practices, FCA regulations, and contractor management.



* Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to compliance standards across all departments.



* Identify compliance risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies related to H&S, regulatory standards, sales practices, FCA guidelines, and contractor performance.



* Oversee the selection, onboarding, and management of contractors, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.



* Provide training and guidance to employees and contractors on compliance policies, H&S practices, sales practices, FCA regulations, and other relevant matters.



* Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, including the FCA, and external auditors on compliance issues.



* Monitor changes in legislation and regulations pertinent to H&S, sales practices, FCA compliance, contractor management, and other compliance areas, communicating updates to management and staff.



* Prepare and maintain compliance documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders.



* Investigate incidents and compliance breaches, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.



* Foster a culture of compliance and safety throughout the organisation.



* Serve as an Internal Auditor when necessary, evaluating processes and controls to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.



* Utilise project management methodologies to plan, execute, and monitor compliance initiatives, ensuring timely and effective implementation.



Qualifications:



* Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field.



* Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance management, with a focus on H&S, regulatory compliance, sales practices, FCA regulations, and contractor management.



* In-depth knowledge of H&S regulations, FCA compliance standards, sales compliance standards, and contractor management practices.



* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.



* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.



* Proven ability to develop and deliver training programmes effectively.



* Proficiency in compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.



* Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO certifications) are .



* Project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.



* Candidates with only H&S compliance experience/training will still be considered for the role of Group H&S Compliance Manager, with a starting pay scale of £42,000.



Compensation and Benefits



* Salary: £60,000 per annum
