Opus People Solutions are excited to recruit on behalf of Vertas for a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join the Facilities Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining outdoor spaces and enjoys working as part of a team to deliver high standards across school environments.

Location: Newark (travel between multiple school sites) or NG5 6NZ Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 15:30Contract: Temporary (with potential to become permanent)

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining school outdoor areas to a high standard
• Grass cutting and general grounds upkeep
• Operating equipment such as strimmers and other powered tools
• Marking out football pitches and running track lines
• Ensuring all areas are tidy, safe, and presentable at all times
• Travelling between various school locations across the Newark area

Requirements

• A full UK driving licence (essential)
• Enhanced DBS check (required due to working in schools)
• Previous grounds maintenance or similar experience desirable
• Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and power tools
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
