Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGround Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic — Direct HireLocation: Primarily based at Eagle County Regional Airport (Gypsum, near Vail, CO), with potential periodic assignments in Montrose (MTJ) and Gunnison (GUC) regions.Compensation: Pay range — $65–$75 per hour
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably with GSE or heavy equipment experience.
- ASE certification or required.
- Must be familiar with hand tools appropriate for GSE maintenance and repair.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Able to pass a drug screen and background check
- Strong communication skills and ability to interpret technical and safety documentation.
- Must be physically capable of safe tool handling in an airside environment.
Shift & Availability
- Exact hours to be determined based on regional staffing needs and airport activity.
Reporting & Safety
- Report safety hazards, defects, or operational issues promptly to supervisors.
- Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to FAA, airport authority, and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of inspection findings, maintenance, and repairs.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs (minor and major) on ground support equipment and airport automobiles.
- Overhaul and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems using diagrams, service manuals, sketches, and OEM specifications.
- Maintain equipment and tools in safe, operational condition; keep work areas clean and free of hazards.
- Participate in Safety Management System (SMS), complying with all safety and PPE requirements.
- Disassemble, clean, lubricate, repair, replace parts, reassemble components; utilize equipment such as lathes, drills, and grinders as needed.
- Coordinate with operations and warehouse teams to ensure equipment availability and readiness.
