Job Title: Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic

Location: Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Netherlands

Employment Type: 1-Year Contract or Permanent

Working Hours: 38-hour contract (typically 40 hours/week), overtime available with required airport security clearance



Overview:

My client, a global leader in Ground Support Equipment (GSE), is actively seeking qualified Mechanics with EU passports who are open to relocating to the Netherlands for a 1-year contract or permanent role.



This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced heavy vehicle technicians to enter the aviation sector and work in a high-profile international airport environment.



The Role:

You will maintain and repair a wide range of airside support vehicles and equipment, including both diesel-powered and electric GSE.



Key Responsibilities:



Routine servicing and inspections of GSE (loaders, stair trucks, towing vehicles)



Maintenance of electric airport vehicles and buses



Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding and repair



Reading and working from technical diagrams and manuals



Responding to breakdowns and carrying out unscheduled maintenance



Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations



Accurate service reporting and documentation



Ideal Candidate:



Background in HGVs, buses, trucks, or heavy plant maintenance



Strong mechanical skills with knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems



Able to read and interpret technical schematics



Proactive, hands-on, and comfortable in fast-paced environments



GSE experience is a plus, but not essential



Must be eligible for airport security clearance in the Netherlands



Must have a good level of English (spoken and written)



Willing to work 40 hours per week with flexibility



Requirements:



Recognised technical qualification in mechanics or automotive engineering



Full EU driver's licence



EU passport (essential for relocation and work clearance)
