At start of shift (1st set of readings) inspect the unit completely including tank line-ups, sump/containment levels, noises, and odors. Compare to normal conditions. Report to Board Operator.
Field Operator I assist the Board Operator I with the running of the plant and less loading.
Report what happened on your shift to your relief during pass down. Always include any unusual conditions that exist at the end of the shift, even if that condition started prior to your shift.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Board Operator in running the plant
- Inspect safety showers in the plant and U-81 and U-85 areas at the start of every shift
- Inspect spill kits at the start of every shift
- Acid unit: Inspect the unit top to bottom 1x / shift
- Utilities in warehouse
- Regenerate Carbon beds and softeners
- T8201 level
- Pull plant and tank samples as needed
- Containment samples when it rains
- Sample refrigerator at end of each month
- Balance salt system
- Swap pumps and K-fans on Tuesday
- Regenerate Ionex columns
- Collect City samples on Tuesday night
- Regenerate the Soft water System
- Outfall samples when it rains
2. Attend safety meetings – contribute
3. Unload salt trailer on night shift
4. Load Effluent supplier trucks
5. Qualify on new / updated procedures. Record in employee training log.
6. Assist FO I under direction of the Board Operator
7. Sweep, mop, clean the plant
8. Water the plants
Qualifications
- Chemical Production Experience is a plus
- HAZMAT Training
- Stormwater Training
- Travel – 0% of time
- Chemistry or Science Background
- Field Operator I for 1 year
- OSHA and Safety Training
