Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent

Department: Agronomy / Grounds

Position Summary


The Golf Course Maintenance team is responsible for the daily upkeep and conditioning of the golf course, practice facilities, and surrounding grounds. This role ensures the course is maintained to private country club standards of playability, appearance, and safety.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Course Setup & Playability
    • Mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
    • Set up daily hole locations and tee markers.
    • Maintain bunkers (raking, edging, sand distribution).
  • Turf & Grounds Care
    • Water turf as directed; monitor for dry spots or turf stress.
    • Fertilize, aerate, topdress, and apply seed as scheduled.
    • Assist with sod installation, overseeding, and repair of worn areas.
  • Equipment & Facility Maintenance
    • Operate mowers, utility vehicles, and hand tools safely.
    • Report equipment issues to mechanics/supervisors immediately.
    • Maintain cleanliness of maintenance facility and work areas.
  • Irrigation & Landscaping
    • Assist with irrigation system operation and minor repairs.
    • Trim trees, shrubs, and landscape beds around the course and clubhouse.
    • Remove debris, trash, and fallen limbs to maintain clean grounds.
  • General Responsibilities
    • Follow all safety guidelines and wear proper protective gear.
    • Arrive on time, ready to work with a positive and professional attitude.
    • Support course projects and special events as directed.

Qualifications


  • Experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or groundskeeping (will train motivated candidates).
  • Ability to operate equipment safely (mowers, trimmers, utility vehicles).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform outdoor physical labor in varying weather.
  • Understanding of the game of golf helpful, but not required.

Work Schedule


  • Early morning shifts required (before play begins).
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Seasonal and full-time roles available.
