About the Program:
The GIRLS Project (Guiding Individuals through Resilience, Leadership & Support) is designed to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and empowerment-based support to justice-involved and at-risk youth, with a focus on girls of —especially African American and Latina youth. Our mission is to reduce recidivism, promote healing, and strengthen families through compassionate, community-based intervention.
Position Summary:
The GIRLS Project Case Manager plays a critical role in supporting women and their families as they navigate behavioral health challenges and the juvenile justice or school systems. You will provide direct case management, motivational support, and behavior change interventions, with services delivered in-home, virtually, or in a setting that best meets the family’s needs.
The ideal candidate is culturally competent, trauma-informed, and passionate about working with youth facing systemic and personal barriers.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of 6–8 families, providing individualized support and case coordination

Deliver trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions tailored to each youth and family

Meet with clients in-home, virtually, or at community-based locations as by the family

Collaborate with juvenile court personnel, school staff, mental health providers, and other service partners

Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case notes, progress reports, and outcome tracking

Participate in all required training sessions and integrate practices as directed by the GIRLS Project Program Supervisor

Follow program protocols and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive service environment

Engage families in goal setting, progress monitoring, and advocacy

Support referrals and connections to behavioral health, education, employment, and community resources
Qualifications:
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field (relevant experience may substitute)

Experience working with youth of , justice-involved youth, or trauma-affected families
-
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing techniques

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle confidential information with integrity

Reliable transportation and ability to travel within Pierce County

Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including some evenings/weekends, if needed

Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:

Familiarity with juvenile justice systems, public schools, or behavioral health resources in Pierce County

Bilingual in Spanish or another commonly spoken in the community

Lived experience related to the target population
