ACS is looking for a qualified and motivated Geotechnical Engineer (EIT) / Geologist in Training (GIT)
Responsibilities
Provide engineering and consulting services for our engineering department in the residential, commercial, public, energy, transportation, communication, and industrial sectors. This will include preliminary job setup in the office, field logging job sites in the field with a drilling crew, coordinating drilling/data collection, generating bore logs in the field and finalizing them in the office, reviewing material testing results, drafting investigation reports, drafting proposals and interfacing with clients. Also, you will be working closely with drilling operations to coordinate scheduling and overall logistics involved with performing site investigations. A prospective applicant will aid in assigning and evaluating laboratory testing data for geotechnical investigations. Duties will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Project setup tasks
- Pre-mobilization preparation of project data and necessary tools
- Onsite field logging of soils, working with the drilling crew
- Analyzing soil to determine engineering characteristics
- Coordinate with managers for schedule and logistics involving drill rigs
- Draft engineering reports
- Conduct and coordinate geotechnical field investigations and laboratory testing
- Evaluate seismic analysis of soil strata
- Review lab data and draft reports
- Draft cost estimates and proposals
- Interact with established clients
Skills and Requirements
Minimum qualifications for the position include:
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) License, or can be licensed within a reasonable amount of time
- Geologist-In-Training (GIT) License, or can be licensed within a reasonable amount of time
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Field experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Negotiable and dependent upon experience
