Position Overview:
As a Geotechnical Engineer-in-Training (EIT), you will support senior engineers in the technical execution of both routine and complex geotechnical projects, contributing to various stages from initial investigation through completion. Your responsibilities will include assisting in data collection, conducting engineering analyses, preparing reports, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of project deliverables. You will also participate in field investigations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop your technical skills under the supervision of licensed engineers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of geotechnical investigations, including field data collection, laboratory testing, and analysis.
- Support the development of initial design concepts and investigative strategies for geotechnical projects.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on planning, scheduling, and managing engineering tasks.
- Participate in the analysis process and assist in the preparation of technical reports for clients.
- Conduct field investigations, such as soil sampling, drilling oversight, and instrumentation installation.
- Review and interpret geotechnical data to assist in design recommendations and solutions.
- Contribute to project reviews and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design and analysis consistency.
- Participate in technical training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry safety standards during fieldwork and office activities.
- Contribute to continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects, supporting adherence to quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with a focus on geotechnical engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of geotechnical investigation and design principles.
- Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork as required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
