Job Description:

Group Delta is seeking an exceptional Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Torrance team. The successful candidate will have experience performing field investigations and preparing design-level reports. This role involves managing geotechnical projects, overseeing junior staff, and participating in industry events and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and/or direct field geotechnical investigations
  • Perform and/or direct geotechnical construction observation and testing
  • Manage geotechnical projects, including geotechnical analyses, client communication, and preparation of deliverables
  • Collaborate with other project managers to deliver geotechnical projects, including field investigations, analyses, deliverables, and construction observation and testing
  • Oversee the work of junior staff to complete tasks and projects
  • Participate in industry events and business development activities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MS in Civil or Geological Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering
  • California PE certification or qualifications to obtain it required; GE certification a plus
  • at least 5 years' relevant experience and ability to perform the responsibilities of the position

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in geotechnical analysis methods including liquefaction analysis, slope stability analysis, ground improvement, wall design, pavement design, and material and soils testing
  • Proficiency in software such as gINT, LPILE, SLIDE, SNAILZ, SLOPE/W, etc.
  • Willingness to learn and a proactive approach to project pursuit, execution, and delivery
