A professional and friendly culture, part of a close knit team and growing department.\n\nGiven their continued growth and achievement there is an air of success about the place, it’s a very motivating and inspiring place to work and great for training.\n\nROLE:\n\nOur client is open to consider candidates from consultancy side or already with previous main contractor employment, not expecting candidates to be the complete article, open to consider transferable skills with training and support also provided if required.\n\nAs part of a growing in-house geotechnical team for this main contractor you will provide support on Geotechnical problems and Earthworks. Working on a range of projects in both the buildings and civil engineering sectors.\n\nYou will liaise with external design consultants and provide advice to the site teams and when applicable provide value engineering solutions.\n\nDUTIES\n\nAs Geotechnical Advisor your duties will include:\n\nProviding technical support to the project teams with regards the general Geotechnical requirements on live projects, which will likely comprise the assistance in Earthworks procurement and review of Earthworks Specifications, Earthworks Strategies and Plans, on-site testing, site investigations (procurement and observations), validation of earthwork strategies, provision of Geotechnical Risk Registers and required Geotechnical Assessments on projects, assisting the Design Team where required, liaison with relevant external Geotechnical Engineers, Clients and Subcontractors, and the resolution of matters arising during or post completion of the construction works.\n\n(Please note this is not a hands-on designer role, more a design management / Project Management / Coordination & Advisory role) but happy to consider design engineers transferring knowledge and experience into this role.\n\nREQUIREMENTS:\n\nTo be considered for this Geotechnical Advisor role you must meet the following criteria:\n\n- Knowledge of Building and / or Civil Engineering Sector.\n- Previous employment as a Geotechnical Engineer, Design Engineer, Civil Engineer, Geo-Environmental Consultant, Geotechnical Advisor, Design Manager or similar.\n\n-Strong background in Foundation Design/Geotechnics.\n- Previous Main Contractor employment would be ideal but not essential.

Candidates will also be considered from a Design Engineering Consultancy or Sub-contractor background.\n- Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).\n\n-Previous experience on Earthworks or Slope stability projects would be ideal.\n\n-Some previous experience in Earthworks supervision would also be highly advantageous.\n\nLOCATION:\n\nThe role will be a mix of remote working and site visits (Sites can be nationwide, so flexibility to travel is required, but it is a visiting role splitting time across several projects concurrently).\n\nWhilst the company is based more centrally, midlands located candidates would be ideal, however given the flexible remote working they are also flexible to consider candidates based in other locations nationwide as long as they are flexible to travel to visit sites.\n\nREMUNERATION:\n\nThe successful Geotechnical Advisor will receive:\n\n*Competitive Basic (Dependant on experience)\n*Car Allowance\n*Pension (very competitive).\n*Bonus\n\nTo be considered for this vacancy or to find out more information please apply now.\n\nServices advertised by Talk Recruitment are that of an employment business and/or agency
