Geotechnical Design Engineer – Hybrid\n Newark / Doncaster / Knaresborough (Hybrid working)\n Permanent | Competitive salary + benefits\n\nWe’re looking for a Geotechnical Design Engineer (or Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer) to join a well-established team specialising in retaining wall systems. This role will involve delivering design work across a range of infrastructure and construction projects, with strong technical ownership and cross-department collaboration.\n\nYou’ll be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle — supporting sales and estimating teams, producing design calculations and reports, and engaging directly with site and delivery teams.\n\n What You’ll Be Doing:\n\n * \n\n Preparing geotechnical designs and technical submissions (calculations, drawings, reports)\n\n * \n\n Working on systems such as sheet piling, king post walls, soil nails, and ground anchors\n\n * \n\n Supporting internal departments through project delivery, including occasional site supervision or monitoring\n\n * \n\n Ensuring work is delivered in line with design standards, safety regulations, and CDM 2015 requirements\n\n * \n\n Contributing to technical development, innovation, and CPD within the design team\n\n✅ What We’re Looking For:\n\n * \n\n Background in geotechnical design with relevant experience in retaining systems or ground engineering\n\n * \n\n Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Soil Mechanics\n\n * \n\n Familiar with relevant design codes and standards\n\n * \n\n Comfortable communicating technical information across teams and clients\n\n * \n\n CAD proficiency and experience with design software (e.g. WALLAP, PLAXIS, Repute, etc.)\n\n * \n\n Chartership (or working toward it) is a strong advantage\n\nThis is a hybrid position, with regular in-person collaboration required at one of three regional offices.\n\nIf you’re looking to join a highly respected technical team with opportunities to grow, develop, and work on complex, nationally significant projects — we’d love to hear from you
