For a Geologist / Hydrogeologist / Environmental Scientist

ENVIRO-SCIENCES (OF DELAWARE), INC. (ESI), a well-established environmental consulting firm in North NJ, is seeking an experienced Geologist / Hydrogeologist / Environmental Scientist to join our Lake Hopatcong, NJ Team. In this role, you will support projects related to groundwater, surface water, and environmental assessments through a combination of field and office work, client interaction, technical writing, and proposal development. You will be responsible for organizing, managing and directing fieldwork to implement and complete client projects safely, on budget and on time. This position is based in the Lake Hopatcong, NJ area and reports directly to an ESI partner. This position is ideal for someone with 4-8 years of hands-on field and analytical experience who is looking to advance their career and take on greater responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field investigations, including groundwater and surface water sampling, soil sampling, and hydrologic assessments.
  • Perform data analysis, modeling, and interpretation of hydrogeologic and environmental data.
  • Prepare technical reports, maps, and figures to summarize findings.
  • Support environmental site assessments, remediation projects, and water resource studies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrology, Environmental Science or related field.
  • 4-8 years of professional experience in geology, hydrology, or environmental consulting.
  • Proficiency in soil/groundwater/surface water sampling, monitoring well installation, and field data collection.
  • Familiarity with groundwater modeling software and GIS tools a plus.
  • Experience working with NJ site remediation regulations.
  • Proficient working with lab data and can create data tables for reports.
  • Phase I ESA experience both in the field and completing reports.
  • Proficient in authoring reports for Phase II work
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A Valid Driver’s License
  • Willingness to travel for field assignments

To the qualified candidate employer offers:
