Location: Orlando, FL (Hybrid – In-Office )
Also open to candidates near major U.S. airports (e.g., Houston, TX; Savannah, GA) with ability to travel as needed

Compensation:

• Base Salary: $150,000 – $180,000
• Short-Term Incentive (STI) Bonus Eligible
• Additional Travel-Based Financial Incentives

About the Opportunity

SkySource Solutions is partnering with a leading energy and power organization to hire a Generator Technical Support Manager. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing generator service operations across North and South America.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert with strong leadership experience, deep generator electrical knowledge, and the ability to support both field and office operations in a hybrid capacity.

Position Summary

The Generator Technical Support Manager will lead a team of technical professionals responsible for generator systems support, outage planning, and service execution. This individual will drive operational excellence, support multi-OEM equipment, and ensure high-quality technical delivery across a diverse service portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of ~10 technical professionals, including performance management and career development
• Provide technical oversight and support for generator systems across the U.S., Canada, and South America
• Serve as a subject matter expert in generator electrical systems with supporting mechanical knowledge
• Support field operations, including on-site troubleshooting and outage execution as needed
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on project planning, cost development, and service delivery
• Oversee technical support processes and ensure strong back-office coordination
• Review and approve scope of work and cost estimates for generator repairs and services
• Drive continuous improvement in technical operations, service delivery, and team performance
• Support forecasting efforts, vendor coordination, and resource planning
• Maintain and support multi-OEM equipment platforms, including:
• Siemens
• Mitsubishi
• GE
• Westinghouse

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical ) or equivalent experience
• 6–7+ years of experience in power with a focus on generator systems
• Strong expertise in generator electrical systems; mechanical experience a plus
• Prior hands-on experience as a Field Engineer or similar technical role
• Proven leadership experience managing direct reports
• Multi-OEM experience strongly , especially:
• Siemens
• Mitsubishi
• GE ()
• Westinghouse (a plus)
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills
• Experience working in technical support or operations environments
• Ability to support geographically dispersed teams and projects

Travel Requirements

• 30–40% travel required
• Primarily short 2–3 day trips across North America
• Must be comfortable with frequent travel and field engagement
