Job Title: General Electrical Superintendent
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 per year

SUMMARY: General Superintendent – Electrical
The General Superintendent is a senior-level field leader responsible for overall field operations across a portfolio of projects within a department. The General Superintendent will work closely with other department leaders in the strategic planning and execution of department objectives. This role supervises and develops Superintendents, Senior Superintendents, and Site General Superintendents, while driving workforce strategy, standard work practices, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the VP of Field Operations, this position requires close collaboration with all project teams and various support departments within the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage and support all assigned Superintendents, Senior Superintendents, and Site General Superintendents.
- Implement departmental standards, share lessons learned, and drive cross-project improvements.
- Forecast and level craft and leadership resources across projects; own weekly field staffing projections for the department and work with the Field Recruiter to manage labor resources.
- Participate early in project reviews (scope, specs, execution sequencing, logistics, prefabrication, commissioning plans); contribute to budgets and project execution plans.
- Collaborate with project management and operations leaders to ensure proper planning for execution.
- Champion safety standards; ensure requirements are followed on all projects, incidents are reported and resolved, and a safety-first culture is modeled.
- Set QA/QC expectations; ensure installations meet NEC (NFPA 70), project specifications, and all applicable codes/regulations.
- Participate in monthly project cost-to-complete sessions.
- Hire in partnership with Field Recruiting; monitor compensation trends and ensure competitiveness.
- Mentor, coach, and performance-manage field leaders; partner with L&D to address skill gaps and deliver training.
- Maintain strong communication with GCs/owners, AHJs, trade partners, and internal teams; resolve escalated conflicts.
- Provide reporting to the VP of Field Operations and senior leadership regarding departmental and project status.

- Digital Fluency (Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, LaborChart, Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar)
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 15+ years in the electrical trade with progressive leadership experience.
- Proven success delivering large commercial/industrial projects on schedule and budget while leading multiple field teams.
- Strong knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70) and NFPA 70E safe work practices.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, one-lines, shop drawings, submittals, and BIM/VDC outputs.
- Preconstruction support experience (constructability reviews, logistics, job start-up).
- Demonstrated change management skill with documentation supporting change orders.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.
- Active journeyman or master electrician license; OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certified.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work in extreme indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Use of jobsite facilities and PPE at all times.
- Ability to safely climb, lift up to 50 lbs., operate equipment, and perform standard construction movements (bend, crouch, kneel, etc.).
- Ability to travel between job sites and work extended or off-shift hours as required.
COMPENSATION:
Annual base pay: $175,000 – $225,000 (depending on experience, skills, and market conditions). Role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
