General Operations Manager (Outdoor Field Operations – Veteran Friendly)
Location: Washington State (Travel Required)
Schedule: Multi-day field assignments (7–21 days)
Compensation: Salary DOE (Depending on Experience)
Mission Overview
We are seeking a General Operations Manager with strong field leadership experience, operational discipline, and the ability to manage crews in dynamic environments. This role is ideally suited for retired military personnel and veteranswho excel in logistics, team leadership, safety, and mission execution.
You will oversee Camp Leaders—not perform their duties—and will be responsible for driving operational performance, readiness, and safety across all field programs.
Your Role
- Lead, mentor, and supervise Camp Leaders and field staff
- Maintain operational readiness of vehicles, trailers, tents, generators, and equipment
- Plan and execute logistics, schedules, and multi-day field assignments
- Ensure compliance with Washington safety rules, labor standards, and USFS guidelines
- Serve as the primary on-site leader, problem solver, and decision maker
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professional communication
- Track reports, safety logs, and operational documentation
This position suits individuals who are comfortable with responsibility, adaptable in changing conditions, and capable of leading teams in remote environments—skills widely held by former military personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license + clean driving record
- Background check required
- Hands-on technical/trade experience (mechanical, electrical, setup, equipment, etc.)
- Leadership experience in operations, logistics, field supervision, or similar
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to deploy for up to 21 consecutive days
- Three (3) professional references
Experience
- Retired U.S. Army / Navy / Marine Corps / Air Force / Coast Guard
- Experience leading squads, platoons, crews, or mission teams
- CDL (active or retired)
- Logistics, fleet, transportation, convoy, or maintenance background
- Experience managing contractors or field personnel
Training
- Required 3-day paid training
- Training pay: $50/day (WA wage and hour standards apply)
- Health care available for full-time employees
