Core Mission

Use metrology equipment and GD&T knowledge to confirm parts meet drawings and specifications, document results (paper and electronic), process ERP transactions, issue nonconformance reports, and help advance the inspection process.

What You Will Do

  • Read mechanical drawings to determine nominal dimensions and tolerances
  • Apply basic GD&T callouts: run-out, flatness, and true position
  • Inspect using micrometers (all types), an optical comparator, a Mueller gage, and all Mechanical Inspector I tools
  • Evaluate cosmetic conditions to determine conformance
  • Complete paper inspection records, electronic records, and related process steps, including ERP transactions
  • Write nonconforming reports with minimal oversight
  • Troubleshoot some CMM outages
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow visual management rules
  • Demonstrate expert understanding of relevant QMS documents
  • Offer improvement ideas and lead small improvement projects
  • Be a trusted team player, as reflected by peer feedback
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical background or demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Nice to Have

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting at least two of the following: Mitutoyo CMM, Zeiss CMM, Amada Fabrivision
  • Ability to perform basic GD&T measurements (run-out, flatness, true position) via mathematical calculation with a height gage or manual CMM

You Should Be Proficient In

  • Quality Inspection Experience

  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) (Zeiss, Mitutoyo)
  • Measurement Gauges
  • Calipers and Micrometers
