Garage Equipment Service Engineer

Location: Reading, South East England (field-based role)\nSalary: Competitive + overtime + benefits\nHours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (45 hrs/week)\nStraightset, a independent garage equipment specialists, is seeking an experienced Garage Equipment Service Engineer to join our professional team. With over 38 years’ experience, we design, supply, install and maintain equipment for car and commercial workshops nationwide.\nThe Role\nYou will travel to customer workshops to carry out a mix of preventative maintenance, calibrations, and breakdown repairs on a wide range of garage equipment including:\n * \n Vehicle lifts\n * \n Compressors\n * \n MOT equipment\n * \n Other workshop systems\nKey responsibilities:\n * \n Servicing, maintenance and repairs of garage equipment\n * \n Attending call-outs and diagnosing faults (mechanical and electrical)\n * \n Commissioning and calibration of equipment\n * \n Accurately completing and submitting job paperwork\n * \n Liaising with Service Controllers to ensure excellent customer support\n * \n Ensuring your service van is stocked and maintained to a high standard\n * \n Following all Health & Safety regulations\nAbout You\nWe are looking for someone who has:\n * \n Recent experience in garage equipment servicing/maintenance (essential)\n * \n Mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills\n * \n GEA accreditation (current or past) – desirable\n * \n A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently\n * \n Strong teamwork and communication skills\n * \n Full UK driving licence\n * \n Willingness to occasionally travel with overnight stays if required\nYou’ll also need a can-do attitude and a strong commitment to delivering great customer service.\nPackage & Benefits\n * \n Competitive salary (dependent on experience and qualifications)\n * \n 23 days holiday + bank holidays\n * \n Voluntary overtime opportunities\n * \n Attendance bonus\n * \n Van cleaning allowance\n * \n Company van, PDA, branded workwear & PPE provided\n * \n Training and ongoing development opportunities\n * \n Voluntary pension, health cover & death-in-service schemes\n * \n Expenses covered\nLocation\nThis position is field-based ideally located in the REading area for travel around the South East of England.\nOnly candidates currently based in this region will be considered.\nAbout Straightset\nStraightset are independent garage equipment experts with over 38 years of experience supplying, installing and maintaining garage and MOT equipment across the UK.
