The Position:

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on airport facilities and equipment. This role includes monitoring, inspecting, and troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and reporting any issues. Timely repairs are prioritized to minimize customer impact.

*This position will require on-call support.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs visual inspections throughout the terminal, concourse, stairwells, and other buildings.
  • Identifies faulty equipment through observation and testing.
  • Replace mechanical components, such as electric motor, pumps, and conveyor systems.
  • Read and understand blueprints to address repair requirements.
  • Enters work orders
  • Assists with maintaining Airport Certification Manual.
  • Ensures compliance with FAR Part 139 requirements.
  • Performs related work as required.


The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess a broad understanding of modern office practices, equipment, and relevant software applications. They should be knowledgeable in safety procedures, general electrical and plumbing systems, construction methods and materials, and FAA regulations, specifically FAR Part 139 and Part 77.


Candidates should have experience with electric motor and pump replacement, as well as conveyor systems. Strong communication skillsboth written and verbalare essential, along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints. The candidate must be organized, efficient in time management, and capable of diagnosing issues and performing necessary repairs.


He or she should be able to perform visual inspections of facilities, identify structural or operational concerns, maintain accurate inspection records, manage supply inventories, and have proficient use of hand and power tools. Establish and maintain effective working relationships.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years' experience in maintaining and repairing mechanical issues;
  • 6 months to 1 year of advanced study in a skilled trade, and less than 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical, and/or mechanical work.

Salary and Compensation:

The hiring range for this position is $41,691.46 to $54,198.90 (final salary depends on experience). MKAA offers a very competitive benefits package for this position, including medical/dental/vision benefits, /life insurance, vacation leave, sick leave, 401(a) retirement program.
