Full Professor/Associate Professor/Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Climate Change and Sustainability, joint appointment in the Institute for Climate and Carbon Neutrality and the Department of Geography (Ref.: xxx)Institute for Climate and Carbon Neutrality Department of Geography The PositionWe invite applications for appointment as Full Professor/Associate Professor/Tenure-track Assistant Professor in broad interdisciplinary perspective on Climate Change, Sustainability, human-environment interactions, and related areas of sustainability research and practice.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCandidates should demonstrate substantial intellectual leadership in their field and the potential for significant contributions to the University, and the wider scholarly community. The appointee will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise research postgraduate students, contribute actively to research and knowledge exchange, and assume service/administrative responsibilities as appropriate. Those appointed at a senior level will also lead collaborative and interdisciplinary initiatives in research and knowledge exchange, mentor and nurture the next generation of scholars and researchers, and assume high-level service/administrative responsibilities relevant to the Department’s operation and strategic development.RequirementsApplicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in related fields. They should have extensive research and teaching experience , with strong track record publications. For appointment at Assistant Professor rank, research experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow is strongly desirable.What We OfferOutstanding candidates could be considered for appointment on tenure terms (Full Professor/Tenured Associate Professor). The appointment for tenure track will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 3 years initially, to commence in January 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second three-year fixed-term contract.A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
