Project Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Fuels Project Manager to lead federal Department of Defense (DoD) fuels construction projects. This role is responsible for overall project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring compliance with USACE and DoD fuels system requirements. The position can be based remotely, with up to 50% travel to project sites nationwide.

Role’s Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of multiple fuels construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, using Primavera P6 and other project management tools.

  • Oversee subcontractor performance, procurement, and materials coordination.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure consistent communication with stakeholders.

  • Review and approve project submittals and design documents for compliance with fuels-specific technical requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with USACE, DoD, and federal construction standards, including EM 385-1-1 safety guidelines.

  • Identify and resolve project risks, issues, and scope changes in coordination with clients and leadership.

  • Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior leadership.

  • Support proposal development and project planning for new fuels-related opportunities.

Must Have Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (required).

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of federal fuels project management experience, preferably on DoD or USACE contracts.

  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of fuels system design, construction, commissioning, and testing.

  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 safety standards and hazard identification protocols.

  • Software: Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Windows.

  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with USACE fuels infrastructure programs.

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.

  • Experience managing multi-site or remote projects.

  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or equivalent safety credential.
