Fuel System Environmental Specialist

At Rebel Convenience Stores, we don’t just fuel cars — we fuel progress. We’re searching for a Fuel System Environmental Specialist to join our corporate team in Upland, CA and help us keep our multi-state operations safe, sustainable, and fully compliant.

What You’ll Do

As a Fuel System Environmental Specialist, you’ll be the go-to expert ensuring our Underground Storage Tank (UST) systems meet all federal, state, and local requirements. You will:

• Oversee UST compliance activities across multiple states.
• Coordinate inspections, leak detection, testing, and maintenance.
• Review vendor reports and verify compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate records to ensure we’re always audit-ready.
• Track permits, training certifications, and regulatory deadlines.
• Provide guidance to operations teams and field staff on corrective actions.
• Monitor evolving environmental regulations and update company processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen training and compliance practices.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of environmental compliance experience (UST expertise ).
• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations (40 CFR 280, DEQ programs, air permitting).
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them in real-world operations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills to engage regulators, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; compliance management software experience is a plus.
