Forklift Operator – Materials Handler (C Crew | W2 Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Canaan, CT 06018
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (C Crew, rotating schedule)
Employment Type: W2 Temp-to-Hire (may be extended or converted to permanent based on business needs)

Schedule (Rotating Bi-Weekly Cycle)

• Week 1: Monday / Tuesday / Friday / Saturday / Sunday
• Week 2: Wednesday / Friday
• Schedule repeats every two weeks

Position Overview

This role involves operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods throughout a warehouse or production environment. The position follows established SOPs and quality guidelines while completing routine, structured tasks in a metrics-driven setting. Work is performed under general to limited supervision with a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and transport materials and finished products
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines to complete assigned tasks
• Maintain accurate records related to inventory movement and material tracking
• Support warehouse and production operations by ensuring materials are available as needed
• Read, interpret, and follow written instructions, safety procedures, and documentation
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support daily workflow
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Perform work in a structured, metrics-driven warehouse/production setting

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0–1 year of warehouse, manufacturing, or related experience
• Forklift operator experience required
• Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions and documentation
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to follow structured processes and safety guidelines

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, crouching, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand and wrist movements. The employee must be able to safely perform physically active warehouse and material handling tasks throughout the entire shift. Reasonable accommodations may be considered where applicable.
