Foreman - Commercial Construction

Job Summary: As the Foreman/ Supervisor, your primary role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring they adhere to the outlined project plan. Working closely with the Directors and management, you play a pivotal role in organizing, directing, and managing on-site activities to achieve project objectives. You are an integral part of the operations team, responsible for the successful execution of all construction projects. We are looking for someone in Halifax Advantages - Work for an industry leading construction company - listed Best Managed Companies - Competitive compensation structure; flexible salary based on experience - Collaborative work environment - Lots of room for growth - Excellent benefits package Responsibilities - Initiate project start-up activities, ensuring clarity of documentation and scope with the Project Manager. - Collaborate with the management to review and refine project plans as necessary. - Provide leadership and guidance to all trades and contractors on-site. - Address and troubleshoot project-related issues, escalating when necessary for resolution. - Facilitate all project closeout activities. - Maintain clear communication with subcontractors to ensure project progress and expectations are met. - Manage risks and problem-solve throughout various project phases. - Serve as a liaison with Owners/Clients, ensuring mutual understanding and satisfaction. - Deliver exceptional customer service to Acadian’s clients, fostering positive relationships. - Ensure all trades receive adequate safety training and possess necessary skills for their duties. - Conduct regular inspections of work performed by trades and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements. - Complete necessary documentation such as payroll on a weekly basis. Qualifications - Considerable experience in a similar role, preferably in commercial or institutional settings. - Thorough understanding of standard commercial construction practices and codes. - Trade certification (e.g., electrician) is beneficial but not mandatory. - Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field. - Possession of certifications such as GSC, CET, or P.Eng is advantageous. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software. - Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
