We have an immediate opening for a Food Program Manager to be a key member of our Food Service Operations Team. The Food Program Manager is responsible for the Club’s day-to-day food service program. The position directs food service personnel at our Cleveland area Broadway Club Kitchen (or as needed). This location serves multiple sites, to ensure functions are performed in a safe efficient manner meeting all food service regulations, provides written support to convey information, ensure proper transportation and availability of food service items to all sites. The Program Manager oversees preparation of Club meals, maintains adequate supplies and other kitchen materials, menu preparation, record keeping, maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace, and general overall supervision of food preparation services for BCGNEO.

This position reports to and receives work direction from the Food Service Compliance Manager to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio.

This position is based out of our Broadway Club in Cleveland, Ohio.

Schedule is Full-Time, Monday through Friday, approximate 30 hours/ week. Schedule is generally 9:00 am to 3:00 pm but may occasionally vary.

Starting Pay Rate is $ 21/ hour and includes generous PTO. Benefits are also available.

KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for preparation and implementation of the menu cycle at minimal cost and maximum efficiency.
  • Responsible for preparation of food by following proper sanitation, safety guidelines, regulations, and standards.
  • Coordinate and facilitate daily meal deliveries in a safe and timely manner.
  • Assist with procurement, prep, delivery, and storage of all food/food related items.
  • Responsible for insuring and maintaining freshness and safety of all food.
  • Always maintain a sanitary and safe kitchen as outlined by ODJFS and Board of Health.
  • Responsible for daily temperature recordings of food for meal service and cold storage
  • Track daily number of meals served, menu preparation and postings
  • Report program information as needed and required to the Food Program Compliance Manager to maintain program standards.
  • Maintain upkeep and service of all kitchen equipment and report any incidents or malfunction of kitchen equipment to Director.
  • Attend and assist with nutrition education programming/training as needed for compliance.
  • Participate in meetings regarding the Food Program as needed.
  • Supervise and provide instruction to food program/kitchen staff as needed
  • Responsible for ordering milk and assisting with ordering food and supplies for meal preparation when needed.
  • Reconcile vendor invoices with receivables weekly.
  • Assist with maintaining internal compliance policies, procedures and guidelines that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices,

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of (3) years of experience working in an environment with high volume cooking
  • Experience with supervision of kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation required.
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Organized and dependable.
  • High School diploma /GED required
  • (4) year education in Nutrition/Dietary or related field ()
  • SERV Safe certified required.
  • Must be or become CPR/First Aid certified.
  • Food Allergen Awareness Certificate desired.
  • Proficiency with computers as appropriate for the position
  • Experience working with children.
  • Flexibility to work clubhouse hours, especially as seasons and service needs change.
  • Must satisfactorily pass a Background and Drug Screening to be eligible for hire.
