Picture your day: you arrive to a bustling food manufacturing facility where uptime is everything. You check the overnight CMMS dashboard, prioritize work orders, coach a technician through a PLC fault, and huddle with production to plan a preventive maintenance window that keeps lines humming. By afternoon, you’ve implemented an improvement to a packaging cell, verified compliance with sanitation standards, and mentored a mechanic on servo drive diagnostics. You wrap up by reviewing inventory for critical spares and recognizing a team member for exemplary safety behavior.

What you'll lead

  • Advance Safety, Quality, and Productivity as a key member of the management team in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Continuously assess equipment and facility systems; recommend and implement improvements for reliability and efficiency.
  • Coach the maintenance team in troubleshooting, repair techniques, and professional development.
  • Oversee performance, policy adherence, and professional conduct; provide feedback, recognition, and corrective action as needed.
  • Drive Preventive and Predictive Maintenance across all assets, using the CMMS for work orders, purchasing, inventory, and equipment history.
  • Diagnose and repair control systems issues including PCs, PLCs, networks, and HMIs.
  • Apply advanced electrical expertise in power distribution, motor controls, VFDs, servo systems, and robotics.
  • Troubleshoot automated packaging machinery and a range of process equipment such as pumps, valves, meters, and mixers.
  • Resolve hydraulic and pneumatic problems and maintain facility utilities: steam, hot water, compressed air, and refrigeration.
  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate programs for food safety, food safety culture, quality, and cleanliness.
  • Champion safety accountability—leaders set the tone and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Food safety leadership

  • Model best-in-class manufacturing and sanitation practices.
  • Ensure the team follows Ken’s Food Safety and GMP policies.
  • Verify work is performed safely and hygienically to protect product integrity.
  • Prevent contamination through disciplined maintenance methods and housekeeping.
  • Require immediate reporting of suspicious activity in or around the plant.
  • Continuously inspect work areas to identify and mitigate potential contamination risks.

Supervision and people management

Directly supervise Maintenance team members: interview, hire, and onboard; plan and assign work; coach and appraise performance; reward and discipline; and resolve concerns in alignment with company policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field .
  • Experience: 3–5 years leading a maintenance team in manufacturing or food processing.

Skills and abilities

  • : Able to read and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations; write reports, correspondence, and procedures; present to managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Mathematics: Proficient with whole numbers, fractions, decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning: Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions; interpret complex technical instructions in math or diagram form; manage abstract and concrete variables.
  • Credentials: No specific certificates, licenses, or registrations required.
