Overview

Energy Jobline is supporting a major international energy programme and is seeking an experienced FMWR Engineering Coordinator to oversee workover rig operations across multiple sites.

This role focuses on coordinating fast-moving rig activities, ensuring safe and efficient execution of well intervention, maintenance, and recompletion operations.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the FMWR Engineering Coordinator will manage planning, mobilisation, and operational performance of workover rigs, working closely with contractors, field teams, and engineering functions.

The position requires strong operational oversight, coordination of logistics, and continuous monitoring of performance to optimise efficiency and cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily and long-term workover rig activities across multiple sites
• Manage rig mobilisation and demobilisation, including site readiness and logistics coordination
• Review and implement well intervention programmes in collaboration with engineering teams
• Oversee rig operations including tubing activities, wellbore cleanout, recompletions, and wellhead work
• Monitor operational performance to ensure alignment with safety, technical, and cost objectives
• Drive efficiency improvements in rig movement and operational sequencing
• Enforce compliance with HSE procedures, permit-to-work systems, and risk management protocols
• Conduct safety meetings and ensure adherence to safe working practices on site
• Act as the key interface between operators, contractors, service providers, and logistics teams
• Coordinate movement of personnel, materials, and equipment to and from site locations
• Track performance metrics including NPT, flat time, move time, and cost efficiency
• Prepare and deliver regular operational and performance reports

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in well workover and intervention operations
• Solid understanding of workover equipment including rigs, wellheads, and intervention tools
• Experience coordinating field operations and managing contractor performance
• Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities in operational environments
• Ability to analyse performance data and drive operational improvements
• Effective communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Mechanical or Marine Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in workover operations or related oil & gas field activities
• Experience working with rig operations, well intervention, or field-based engineering teams
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

The advertised day rate applies to independent consultants operating on a contract basis. Candidates who prefer to be engaged as employees of the client may be offered a different remuneration structure.
