Best Choice Plumbing & Heating is seeking to hire a Fleet Mechanic. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting a company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and operational. This includes performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary repairs to various types of vehicles, from cars and trucks to specialized equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and other scheduled services to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of vehicles.
Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals, and then repairing or replacing faulty parts.
Inspections: Conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues and ensure they meet safety standards and regulations.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used, costs, and vehicle history.
Compliance: Ensuring all vehicles adhere to relevant safety regulations and compliance standards, such as those set by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Communication: Communicating with fleet managers, drivers, and other stakeholders about vehicle status, maintenance needs, and repair progress.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a mechanic
- Knowledge of shop equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Salary will be determined by the level of experience.
