As a Fleet Mechanic, youll perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles, primarily heavy duty diesels, with some gasoline powered vehicles, followingFMCSA regulations and industry best practices. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in heavy-duty vehicles, with a preference for those experienced with commercial motorcoach buses (MCI & Prevost).
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate daily with our established, knowledgeable mechanic team
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on motorcoaches and support vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and brake systems
- Conduct safety inspections at scheduled service intervals
- Utilize diagnostic software and electronic systems to troubleshoot vehicle issues
- Maintain accurate service records and logs
- Stay current with required training and continuing education
- Uphold the highest safety and compliance standards in every repair
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary vocational training in mechanics
- Minimum 1 year of professional mechanical experience
- Commitment to ongoing technical training, which may include remote or online education
- Valid Drivers License
- Willingness to obtain a DOT Medical Certificate
- Must pass a post-offer background check
Work Schedule & Physical Requirements:
- Full-Time, 40 hours/week, with occasional mandatory overtime
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday (Day Shift); occasional nights/weekends/holidays as needed
- Must be proficient with PC-based tools and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to ensure compliance with FMCSA requirements
- Capable of lifting/pushing/pulling 50+ lbs frequently and 100+ lbs occasionally
- Some travel may be required for training or special assignments
Compensation:
- Pay is competitive and based on your experience and technical knowledge
- Bi-weekly pay schedule
- Position is hourly with opportunities for overtime
