Picture starting your day in a well-equipped shop, keeping a hardworking fleet safe and road-ready for home heating oil deliveries across Long Island and NYC. As our Fleet Diesel Technician, you’ll be the trusted expert maintaining and repairing a diverse lineup of diesel vehicles for a family-owned company that values craftsmanship and reliability.

What Your Day Looks Like

• Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to assess vehicle condition
• Identify worn or damaged components before they become costly failures
• Perform diesel engine repair and troubleshooting
• Handle electrical wiring and electrical system repairs
• Complete brake service and repair
• Execute routine preventive maintenance to maximize uptime

What You Bring

• Vocational Certificate or equivalent
• 2–5 years of relevant experience (including at least 2 years of diesel engine repair — Required)
• Valid Class A or B CDL license
• Hazmat Endorsements
• Hands-on experience with home heating oil delivery vehicles
• Experience with Freightliner diesel vehicles
• Background working on fuel oil trucks and pumping systems
• Experience with Mercedes Sprinter diesel vans
• Solid technical aptitude; safety‑oriented, thorough, and dependable
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong sense of responsibility

Compensation & Role Type

• Job Type: Full-time
• Pay: B scale $36–$40; A scale $45–$50
