Job Summary
The Fireplace Installation Manager’s responsibility is to oversee all aspects of the Fireplace Installation team’s job functions. This person is responsible for the Fireplace Installation team, making sure they follow the manufacturers’ specifications, and guidelines, Rio Grande Co.’s policies and procedures and striving for customer satisfaction. Their involvement is with customers, suppliers, and fellow employees.
Essential Functions:
- Leadership and Training:
- Oversee the training of all Fireplace Installation employees through supervisors and directly when appropriate.
- Develop and implement training programs focused on safety, efficiency, and product knowledge while partnering with the Division Manager and the Fireplace Technical Trainer.
- Policy and Procedure Management:
- Maintain and refine policies and procedures to improve productivity and compliance with company standards and Rio Grande standard operating procedures.
- Delegate duties effectively to fireplace service supervisors and follow-up to ensure execution.
- Operations Oversight:
- Ensure that installation work is performed in a safe and effective manner for fireplace brands such as Isokern, Napoleon, Heat & Glo/Heatilator, Flare Fireplaces, European Home, Montigo Del Ray, Spark Modern Fires, Stellar Hearth Products, Town & Country, Urbana Fireplaces and others.
- Periodically observe field personnel during ride-a-longs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee all commercial work from pre-construction through test fire.
- Customer Engagement:
- Work closely with the inside customer service team to schedule and manage customer re-schedules.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues respectfully and courteously.
- Project and Safety Management:
- Conduct job site visits and collaborate with sales teams to ensure successful installations.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain fleet safety.
- Other Duties:
- Handle additional responsibilities as assigned by the Division Manager.
Job Requirements
Experience and Expertise:
- 8 years minimum fireplace installation or related industry experience.
- Proven leadership skills with a history of effectively managing and mentoring teams.
- Strong background in project management and operational oversight.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in labor scheduling and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong delegation skills with the ability to hold team members accountable.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in fireplace installation for brands such as Isokern, Napoleon, Heat & Glo/Heatilator, Flare Fireplaces, European Home, Montigo Del Ray, Spark Modern Fires, Stellar Hearth Products, Town & Country, Urbana Fireplaces and others.
- Proficiency in business software, including Microsoft Office and company operating systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations (OSHA30 certification required).
- NFI certification is .
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Working Conditions
Constant = 75 – 100% of the time; Frequent = 50 – 75% of the time; Occasional = 25 – 50% of the time; Rare = less than 25% of the time
Work Environment:
- Constant work performed in an outdoor environment on construction worksites
Physical Demands:
- Occasional work performed in a sedentary position
- Frequent work performed while standing
- Occasional ability to lift, bend, stop, and kneel
- Frequent ability for non-CDL driving
