Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, our client is seeking an experienced Fire Damper Testing & Installation Engineer to join their London-based operations team.\n\nWorking across a diverse range of commercial, healthcare, public sector, and critical infrastructure environments, this is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking to join a growing organisation that invests heavily in training, development, and career progression.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Fire Damper Testing & Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, installation, maintenance, and reporting of fire and smoke dampers within ventilation systems. You will ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with current legislation, British Standards, and industry best practice.\n\nThis is a field-based role requiring a high level of technical competence, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent client relationships.\n\nPackage:\n\n * Up to £45,000 basic salary depending on experience\n\n * Overtime opportunities and additional earning potential\n\n * Company van\n\n * Uniform and PPE provided\n\n * Tablet/laptop\n\n * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays\n\n * Pension scheme\n\n * Annual salary reviews\n\n * Ongoing training and development\n\n * Genuine career progression opportunities within a growing business\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nConduct fire damper inspections and operational testing in accordance with BS9999 and industry best practice.\n\nVerify damper accessibility, condition, operation, and compliance.\n\nInspect fusible links, actuators, retaining angles, and associated components.\n\nIdentify defects and non-compliant installations and recommend remedial actions.\n\nCapture photographic evidence and maintain accurate asset records.\n\nInstallation & Remedial Works\n\n * Install fire dampers and fire/smoke combination dampers.\n\n * Install access panels and undertake associated ductwork modifications.\n\n * Carry out remedial works to ensure compliance with current fire safety regulations.\n\n * Work alongside HVAC engineers, site teams, and facilities management professionals.\n\nCompliance Reporting\n\n * Complete digital inspection reports and compliance certificates.\n\n * Produce clear and accurate documentation for clients.\n\n * Update company systems with inspection results and recommendations.\n\n * Ensure all work is completed in line with company quality standards.\n\nHealth, Safety & Quality\n\n * Follow company Health & Safety policies, RAMS, and safe working procedures.\n\n * Use appropriate PPE and access equipment.\n\n * Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times.\n\n * Produce site-specific RAMS where required.\n\nEssential Requirements\n\n * Minimum 2 years' experience in fire damper testing, installation, or maintenance.\n\n * Experience working within commercial and public-sector buildings.\n\n * Good understanding of HVAC and ventilation systems.\n\n * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.\n\n * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.\n\n * Excellent communication and report-writing skills.\n\n * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.\n\nQualifications\n\n * NVQ Level 2 minimum\n\nIf you are a Fire Damper Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking organisation with a strong pipeline of work and long-term career prospects, we would like to hear from you
