Fire & Security Small Works & Install Engineer\nLondon/M25\nEmployment Type\nFull-time, permanent\nKey Responsibilities: Fire and Security Installation Engineer\nInstallation & Commissioning\n * The Fire and Security Installation Engineer must carry out installation and commissioning on fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, door-entry systems, or building safety equipment\n * Accurately interpret installation plans, site drawings, and specifications.\n * Perform cable routing, component mounting/alignment, system configuration, commissioning, and completion of certification and reports.\n * Replacement of faulty emergency lights.\nMaintenance & Fault-Finding\n * Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently.\n * Provide emergency call‑out service as part of a rota, with accompanying call‑out pay.\n * Maintain detailed service records, reports, and job documentation.\nClient & Team Collaboration\n * The Fire and Security Installation Engineer must develop relationships with clients to clarify needs, demonstrate systems, and resolve queries.\n * Work closely with project managers, surveyors, subcontractors, and office staff.\n * Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members or apprentices.\nCompliance & Safety\n * Ensure all work adheres to British standards.\n * Follow Health & Safety policies, complete risk assessments, and use appropriate PPE.\nEquipment & Administration\n * Maintain service vehicle, tools, inventory, and field equipment.\n * Keep software, firmware, and system configurations up to date.\n * Use PDA/mobile tools or portals for scheduling, reporting, and job management.\nEssential Requirements\n * 2+ years technical experience in small works, installations, or service engineering (fire, security, telecoms, AV, or related disciplines).\n * Full UK driving licence.\n * Strong fault-finding, technical, and report-writing skills.\n * Excellent communication abilities and customer-focused attitude.\n * Comfortable working independently and traveling across London & beyond.\n * IT proficient (reporting software, email, service management).\nDesirable Qualifications\n * First Aid, IPAF, PASMA certification.\n * FIA qualifications.\n * Manufacturer-specific training: Honeywell, etc.\nWhat We Offer\n * Competitive salary and performance/overtime earning potential.\n * Door to Door travel pay.\n * Company vehicle with fuel card, mobile phone and laptop.\n * 25–30 days holiday (plus public holidays) and optional buying/selling of leave\n * Ongoing training, qualifications development (e.g. 18th Edition, product training).\n * Friendly, supportive team environment with long-term career development
