About the Role

This position is a key technical resource supporting global sales and service teams. It involves promoting the application of Det-Tronics specialty detection products and system solutions, primarily focusing on systems. The Application Engineer collaborates with sales, field service, customer service, project teams, engineering, and marketing to identify and implement solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction and meeting company goals throughout the sales cycle. Building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Define, develop, and implement systems product application solutions based on customer and code requirements.

Resolve technical product and application issues for customers, aligning with company values and objectives.

Provide pre-sales support to customers and sales teams.

Assist in designing and developing new products and sales tools.

Maintain relationships with industry stakeholders and support conferences and trade shows.

Create reports and trip summaries for projects and proposals.

Conduct technical and product training for salespeople and customers.

Travel as needed for on-site project support, commissioning, and testing.

Minimum Qualifications

2-year degree or certification from a technical school.

At least 2 years of experience in technical product support.

Valid drivers license.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree.

Strong technical aptitude in process automation or safety systems and their integration.

Experience with process automation or safety systems implementation.

Knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet, HART).

Familiarity with DCS, PAC, PLC, SIS, DI, DO, AI, IEC, and 61508 terminology.

Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Interpersonal skills to build relationships and influence stakeholders.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Willingness and ability to travel, sometimes on short notice.
